Meet the Plano Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Plano
When you call Vance Gate Repair Plano, the person who answers knows gate systems, not a script. The technicians who roll up to your driveway in Plano are the same people who answer your questions, walk your property, and hand you a written price before a single tool comes off the truck. We’ve been doing this since 2014, and the crew we’ve built in Plano reflects how Adrian Vance likes to run a job: name the part, name the problem, name the price, then get it right the first time.
Our People
Marcus T. - Lead Technician
Marcus has been turning wrenches on gate systems for 14 years, the last seven with Vance Gate Repair Plano. He’s our go-to for the ugly jobs: swing gates that have sagged off their hinges, cantilever slides with rollers worn flat, and motors that hum but won’t move. His specialty is diagnosing intermittent faults, the kind where a gate works fine for three days then refuses to close at 10 p.m. Marcus holds factory training certifications on LiftMaster, FAAC, and BFT automation systems, and he’s the one who photographs every limit switch position and capacitor reading before and after a repair. Off the clock, he restores old bicycles and has been known to over-tighten a seatpost bolt exactly like he over-tightens a gate hinge.
Dana R. - Senior Installer
Dana has installed over 600 gates across the Plano area since joining Vance in 2018. She came up through ornamental iron work, so she understands how a gate should hang, how steel behaves over a North Texas summer, and why a poorly set post will haunt an installation for years. Dana leads our new gate installs and major structural replacements, handling everything from site layout to final weld inspection. She’s certified in MIG and TIG welding and handles the majority of our gate parts fabrication in-house. When she’s not on a job site, she’s out at Lake Lavon with a kayak and no phone signal, which she describes as “the best part of any week.”
Sam W. - Service Coordinator
Sam is the voice on the other end of (972) 236-7089 when you call at 2 a.m. because your gate won’t close and your dog has figured that out. He’s been with Vance Gate Repair Plano since 2020 and handles dispatch, scheduling, and the written estimate review process. Before joining the team, Sam worked in commercial property maintenance, which means he can ask the right questions about a gate operator problem without putting you on hold to look up a diagram. He’s the one who makes sure every technician knows the service history on your property before they arrive, and he keeps the photo documentation files organized for our 365-Day Done Right Promise records. Sam will tell you he’s the team’s designated “guy who reads the manual,” and he means it as a compliment.
Leo C. - Apprentice Technician
Leo joined Vance in 2024 as our Plano apprentice, working alongside Marcus and Dana on residential and light commercial jobs. He’s in his second year of hands-on training, which means he does the repetitive work that builds muscle memory: checking photo-eye alignment, cleaning track bearings, torquing gate hinge bolts to spec, and documenting every step with photos for the customer record. Leo is working through his factory certifications on Linear and Viking automation systems, and he’s already earned a reputation for spotting worn rollers before they fail. He’s a Plano East grad and spends his weekends playing bass in a band you’ve never heard of, which he will tell you about if you ask about the stickers on his toolbox.
One Standard, Every Job

Every person on this page works under the same rule set, and it’s the one Adrian Vance built the company on starting in 2014: write the price before the work, photograph what you found and what you changed, and stand behind the repair for a full year. That’s not a marketing line. It’s how Marcus closes out a job ticket, how Dana builds an installation plan, and how Sam schedules your service call. When a technician leaves your Plano property, you get a documented photo record of every adjustment, a written record of every part number installed, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing, under Haven Standard Clause 1 and Clause 4. No argument, no fee, no expiration date within that window. The team in Plano doesn’t cut corners because the standard doesn’t allow it, and because these are the people who have to look you in the eye when the job is done. For gate repair, installation, motor and opener service, access control, or parts and welding in Plano, call (972) 236-7089. A real person answers, any hour, every day.
